Rowing:
The row on the 14th May was a beautiful trip to Margaret Ness - two full boats, Cito coxed by Jack and Jubilee Gal coxed by Timandra. Our Rowing Admiral Peter told us a story that if we put mackerel in the Thames the seals will come and play! I handed small tins of mackerel to the crew before they left, at Margaret Ness the rowers were very excited to try this experiment. After all the mackerel tins were emptied into the Thames - they got seal action! It worked, super happy rowers returned to the club wanting mackerel on their boats on all their trips!
We have space for 2 rowers on this Sunday's row, who wants to come and row with the happiest bunch of people in the club? Email me and be part of an epic trip that will be part of GYC History!
The next dates for the diary are as follows :
- Sunday 28th May – Row to Erith Yacht Club - Paul, Timandra & Jack are the Senior Coxes and they will have trainee coxes with them. This will be a 3 boat trip.
- Sunday 4th June - Row to Westminster Boating Centre
- Saturday 10th June - Paul, our cox trainer, has agreed to do another Cox training / refresher / practice session.
- Sunday 18th June - Row to Isle of Dogs

Volunteering:

Website Procurement - we intend to replace the club website but need some help to oversee the procurement process. The volunteer should have relevant professional experience.
LED Lighting Wrangler - this is a one off piece of work to help identify best lighting strategy for the workshop to replace the sodium lights with LED's. Some work has been done, but we need someone (with appropriate pre-existing skills) to get into the detail, talk to the various stakeholders in the club, research products and agree procurement strategy with Michael, Norman and the Commodore. There is a window of opportunity as the shed will shortly be vacated by Njord.
