==Member Parking at GYC==
A reminder of the rules under our license to use the car park:

* All weekend (midnight Friday through midnight Sunday) and Tuesday evening (6pm to 11pm) - the entire car park is available for use by the club. You can park anywhere as long as you display the club parking rondel (inside front window strongly recomended).

* Outside of these times, all the spaces on the right hand side except the last one can be used by members as long as you display the rondel. You can use the other spaces only if the member spaces are already full; members have been fined for parking on the left when (according to the wardens) spaces are available on the right. If you want to be sure of avoiding problems under this rule - take a photograph showing that the right side is full when you park up.

GYC does not own or manage the car park - but we have a ''license'' to use it under the above rules. The property owners employ the services of a parking management company who send wardens around to issue tickets. The Club is not responsible if you get a parking ticket, though sometimes these can be challenged if the Wardens did not issue it fairly.

Guests wishing to use the car park can sometimes be issued with dated parking permits and can then use the car park as long as they follow the above rules.

===Yard Parking===
Council is increasingly concerned about members parking in the yard when there is plenty of room in the car park: almost every week the yard team is having difficulties moving boats because cars are in the way, and there are safety concerns.

Please be considerate and use the car park - and if you must drive into the yard leave a note in the window with your mobile phone number, remain with the vehicle or leave your keys with the yardmaster. You must not leave the club premises with your car left in the yard. Parking permit rondels are available from the Membership Secretary.

The Club has long had the goal of providing ‘Affordable sailing for all’ and as a member run, not for profit club we are able to keep fees at a level that keeps the club accessible to the local community. Our membership fee structure easily meets the affordability rule of the ‘Community Amateur Sports Club’ scheme and we also provide ‘taster sessions’ at very low cost. The club offers a 50% discount on membership and joining fees for persons in receipt of Universal Credit or similar qualifying benefits - please contact the Membership Secretary for more information.

===Pontoon use by Members===
Under byelaw 29, the mooring of member boats on the pontoon is by permission of the
Harbour Master or an Officer of the club. However, as long as there is no signage to indicate the pontoon is booked, members can moor for up to a maximum of three days in any two week period. A member boat which stays longer than this will be charged £1.50 per meter LOA for each additional night.

===Visiting Vessels===
On approval in advance by the Harbourmaster or his/her assistants, visiting vessels may be accommodated on the pontoon or trot moorings. The maximum size of vessel for the trot moorings is 40ft LOA and 10 metric tons and for the pontoon, a maximum of 15.5m. Stays of more than 10 nights
require the approval of the Vice Commodore and stays of more than 30 nights require a vote of Council.
* The charge for leisure vessels owned by non-members will be £2.33 per meter LOA per night. Where the stay is for one night or less and the boat is from a sister club the charge may be waived at the discretion of the Yard or Harbour Master.
* The charge for commercial vessels (which do not have separate written agreement with the club) will be £4.33 per meter LOA per night.
* The charge for off-station boats (vessels owned by members but which do not have a mooring at the club) will be: £1.50 per meter LOA per night.”

==Yard==
Yard charges are now calculated to take account of the length of the boat, type of keel, whether multi-hull, whether parked under cover, whether project status or visitor and whether using the clubs stands / legs.

This is all done using a spreadsheet, which also works out the charges for Wise 'Lift' and 'Set Down' as these are now specific to each boat, taking account of the size of boat, type of keel, whether multi-hull and so on. Charges for stands and frames are also now included in the daily yard charge calculated for a particular boat.

This is fairer, but it does make it harder for members to understand how their invoice was calculated. What we have done is prepare a copy of the actual spreadsheet used (with 2024/25 prices) where you can input details of your boat and check your invoice is correct (you can also experiment, to see the impact of changing different settings such as off station rates). If you have some spreadsheet skills you can examine exactly how the pricing model works. We also provide a more detailed 'explainer' that was shared by the TNA when this was launched.

Storage of member owned trailer-sailors, trailer-motor-boats, dinghies and kayaks is subject to availability of suitable space. Yard fees for these vessels uses the same fee calculator as cruisers but slightly higher because they do not also have a mooring. They will be charged a <18 month rate as long as they are 'active', meaning they have been used on the water four times in the year. If such a boat is inactive for more than 18 months they will be charged the >18 month rate and if still inactive after 36 months they will be charged the 36 month rate. It is the members responsability to provide proof of activity, such as a time stamped WhatsApp photo of the boat on the water.

===Slip launches for visiting boats===

Where a visitor wishes to launch a RIB or other trailed boat by access through our yard, there will be a charge of £5 per meter LOA, or £10 per meter LOA if club equipment is used.

Storage of trailers in the yard for such boats will be billed at £2 per meter LOA (of the boat) per night.

Visitor launches and trailer storage must be authorised by the Yardmaster and supervised by a member of the yard team
