The dinghy programme, showing the races and safety crews, is posted on the board in the club house, and can also be read further down this article. The sign up sheet for a race usually goes up on the clubhouse board two weeks in advance – so to reserve a boat, you have to come to the club and you must be a club helm. We normally race with helm and crew only, although on cruises we have more in a boat.
We maintain the boats ourselves – ranging from varnishing to repairing shrouds and gel coat. We work very much as a team - helping boats up and down the slipway, putting sails and covers away (vital when you are cold and wet!) and keeping the dinghy store tidy. In addition to the club's work parties, we have several dinghy work parties throughout the year. Attendance isn't compulsory but all help is much appreciated!
New dinghy sailors are always welcome. Best come and have a chat on a Tuesday evening - there's always a dinghy sailor or two around
Scheduled events can be found in the calendar.
